We want everyone to experience the joy, thrill and wonder of the Belfry. To ensure your comfort and take care of the details, we ask that you book your tickets by phone – 250-385-6815. Please call us if you have any questions.
For patrons with accessibility needs, please call the Box Office at 250-385-6815.
Apart from our Balcony, the Belfry is fully wheelchair accessible. As space within the theatre is limited, please book wheelchair seating in advance (250-385-6815). Please let us know if you have a companion with whom you wish to sit.
Wheelchair seating is provided on the Main Floor of the theatre in rows B and C. Companion seating is adjacent to those wheelchair positions.
The wheelchair ramp is located on the west side of the building, off Gladstone Avenue and there are two designated parking spots on Gladstone Avenue, close to the wheelchair ramp.
Our wheelchair-accessible washroom (1.7 m x 2.05 m) is in the southeast corner of the lobby.
For our patrons with low or no vision, we offer one VocalEye performance during each Mainstage production. Trained Audio Describers provide descriptions of the visual elements of the show, allowing people with low vision to enjoy the theatrical experience without missing any of the details.
For patrons who are hard of hearing, the theatre is equipped with an infra-red hearing assist system and neck loop system. We have twelve devices of each of the two systems available through the Box Office on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Guide and medically required service dogs are welcome in the theatre. For audience safety and comfort, you must inform us that you are bringing a dog when you book your tickets.
Have a snoop around. Our building is actually three buildings on five levels. The lobby was built in 1887 and started life as the Emmanuel Baptist Church. In 1892, as the congregation grew, they built the Sanctuary, which is our Mainstage Theatre. In the 1950’s (we don’t know exactly when) a kitchen and gymnasium were added along the south side of the property. The kitchen now serves as our Carpentry Shop and the gymnasium is our BMO Studio Theatre and Scenic Paint Shop. There are a lot of nooks and crannies. Enjoy.
