Sin City Improv Serial – Castaways
Date posted: January 9, 2019
Presented by Broad Theatrics Society, the Popular Sin City Improv Serial returns after a two- year hiatus with a new setting, a new venue and a new night!
When a tropical storm sinks a Cruise Ship excursion, a group of tourists wash up on a deserted island – where they must learn to survive. Victoria’s top comedic actors spin a continuing story in ten episodes. Each performance is completely improvised, with director Ian Ferguson calling the shots live on stage. Come once for a great night out; you may get hooked and want to come back. A hilarious journey as “Lost” meets “Survivor” with a hint of “Gilligan’s Island.”

About the show
Victoria’s popular SIN CITY troupe debuted in February 2011 and quickly garnered critical acclaim and a loyal cult-like following of “Sinners”: fans who attended every episode, and even dressed up as their favourite characters.
This improv format was created two decades ago by Ian Ferguson and Kirsten Van Ritzen in Edmonton as DIE-NASTY the Live Improvised Soap Opera (which continues its legendary run). When Kirsten and Ian moved to Toronto, they created the show at The Second City naming it SIN CITY. The Toronto troupe starred Second City Alumnae with guest stars Colin Mochrie and Paul Soles, received a Canadian Comedy Award Nomination, and filmed as a CBC-TV special.
Kirsten Van Ritzen, Morgan Cranny, Robert Conway, Christine Upright, Alan Penty, Charlie de Pape, Bill Nance and special guests.
Director Ian Ferguson
Music: Dr. Patrick Boyle and Alexander B. Ferguson.
