“La Tumba Mambi – Documentary and Concert” event combines two launches. The first is the launch of documentary-fiction film La Tumba Mambi co-directed by Havana-based DJ Jigüe and UVic visual anthropologist Alexandrine Boudreault-Fournier, followed by a discussion with directors, producer Ariel Reyes and special guests. The second rocket is the jazz album “Rumba” by Juno nominee Afro-Cuban pianist, visiting artist at Berklee (2021), and the Manhattan School of Music (2022), Rafael Zaldivar who will be accompanied by Noedy Hechavarria Duharte (sax), Israel Toto Berriel (percussion), and Phil Albert (bass).
Tickets: $25 in advance, $30 at the door (+GST) / $20 for Students with ID
