João and Maria have been married for 50 years, ever since they left Portugal, but when a disagreement about their burial plot escalates, they find a new, and potentially dangerous, way to express their love.
Based on his real Portuguese grandparents and their real Portuguese arguments, Nicholas Guerrerio’s short play, directed by his brother Aidan, is a poignant celebration of joy even in the face of death.
First performed at the 2022 Or Festival in Vancouver.
Presented by Bragi Theatre
