The Art of Re-Gifting, An Evening to Inspire Support of the Arts – This Thursday

This gala event is a celebration showcasing Victoria’s diverse arts community. First nations visual artists have created specially commisioned works, including a Salish woven blanket and carved mask. In the Coast Salish tradition of generosity the artwork will be gifted to five local arts organizations; the Belfry, Ballet Victoria, Intrepid Theatre, The Other Guys Theatre Company, and ProArt Alliance. They will in turn "pay it forward", each staging a live performance as a gift in return. The visual art pieces will then be autioned off with proceeds from the evening going to the participating arts organizations.
