Auditions

We hold general auditions annually. To find out when we have scheduled our General Auditions, you can sign up for our news feed, join our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter. We’ll post detailed information once the dates have been set.

The Belfry Theatre operates within the Canadian Theatre Agreement in association with Canadian Actors’ Equity Association.

Audition notices will also be posted on Equity’s e-drive.

Belfry Theatre Script Submissions:

The Belfry Theatre’s mandate includes original work, and also encompasses previously produced Canadian plays and international contemporary work.

Following are our script submission guidelines:

We accept work in development or unproduced plays from Canadian writers only.

We accept previously produced plays from Canadian and international writers.

Please include your full mailing address, phone number and email address.

Please information about the development history of the play, what stage you feel the script is at, whether it has been workshopped, and any past or upcoming productions.

Please include a cast breakdown (how many in cast, men/women, any doubling).

Please submit only one script at a time. If we are interested in receiving more scripts from you, we will request them.

We receive many scripts every year and it sometimes takes us several months to read them. We are not always able to provide dramaturgical feedback.

We would prefer to receive hard copies of your script. Please mail to:
